The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website and app on Saturday (October 25) faced another outage, causing widespread disruption in ticket bookings during the busy festive season. Users attempting to make reservations are encountering the recurring error: "This Site is currently unreachable, please try after some time."

This is the second major disruption ahead of the holidays, following similar technical issues reported just before Diwali. The repeated downtime is causing frustration among lakhs of passengers eager to travel for the festival season.
According to social media reports, the website and app issues began around 10:00 AM, coinciding with the opening of the Tatkal booking window for AC tickets. Users attempting to secure last-minute travel during this peak time were met with the “Server Unavailable” error, preventing successful bookings.
Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has been flooded with complaints, accompanied by screenshots of the failed booking attempts. Downdetector, a platform tracking website and app outages, has also confirmed disruptions affecting the IRCTC portal.
As of now, the IRCTC has not released an official statement regarding the cause of the outage or the expected timeline for resuming ticket booking services. Last time, a similar disruption lasted a few hours before services were restored, allowing passengers to continue bookings. However, the recurrence during the festive rush has heightened inconvenience for travelers.
