In a bid to make the Philippines easily accessible, Air India has launched direct flights for Manila in the Philippines from Delhi. It is a major expansion of the carrier’s Southeast Asia network. The operations began in October 2025 and by doing this, Air India has become the only airline to offer a direct service between the two nations.

The timing is perfect as the Philippines’ recently announced visa-free entry for Indian nationals for up to 14 days. The new strategic move removes a significant barrier for short-stay leisure travel.

Route details (as mentioned on official website of the airline)

The flight will operate five times a week: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Flight numbers: AI 2362 (Delhi → Manila) and AI 2361 (Manila → Delhi).

Departure: From Delhi at 13:20 IST (arrival in Manila at 22:40), Return from Manila at 23:40, arriving Delhi at 03:50 the next day.

Significance

With this, the carrier will strengthen tourism and business links between India and the Philippines. Before this, there was no direct air connection. The route also capitalises on a recent policy change where the Philippines now allows visa-free entry for Indian tourists up to 14 days, which makes short-stay visits far easier.

Fare begins from around INR 42,146 all-inclusive for return economy fares for travel between 01 October 2025 and 31 March 2026.

Before this, travellers between India and the Philippines were on connecting flights via other Southeast Asian hubs.
