Elon Musk Launches Grokipedia: world’s billionaire industrialists Elon Musk has released the initial version of its new artificial intelligence based online encyclopedia ‘Grokipedia’ on Monday. Musk it popular online encyclopedia wikipedia We are telling you a less biased option.
Grokipedia is built by xAI’s artificial intelligence system and has been described by Elon Musk as a “better, fairer and truth-based platform than Wikipedia”, reports The Washington Post. Although its layout and writing style is very similar to Wikipedia, its scope is currently very limited. The report said that right-leaning bias was seen in many of its articles.
Musk first announced Grokipedia on September 29. He wrote on Musk described it as an alternative platform in response to Wikipedia’s “biased approach.”
According to the report, it is written on Gender in Grokipedia, “Gender refers to the binary classification of humans as male or female based on biological sex…” Whereas Wikipedia defines it from a social and cultural point of view, “Gender is the range of social, psychological, cultural, and behavioral aspects of being a man (or boy), woman (or girl), or third gender.”
This clearly shows that Grokipedia gives priority to the biological approach, whereas Wikipedia emphasizes the social aspect.
This website quietly went live on Monday, but went down within a few hours and was activated again by the evening. Musk had previously said on October 20 that the release was being slightly delayed “to remove some propaganda”. At the time of launch, there were approximately 8.85 lakh articles on Grokipedia, while the number on Wikipedia is more than 8 million.
Musk’s profile on Grokipedia looks completely different from Wikipedia. It notes that Musk’s work is focused on “AI safety and truth-based development,” not heavy regulation. “His long-term vision prioritizes safeguarding human consciousness against existential threats…” However, there were some inaccuracies in some sections, such as giving incorrect information about Ohio politician Vivek Ramaswamy.
The report said that Grokipedia’s articles are being generated from the same Large Language Model (LLM) that powers Musk’s Grok chatbot. The advantage is that it can stay updated with live data from X, but this also increases the risk of inaccurate information and controversial answers.
Grokipedia is part of Musk’s strategy to challenge the liberal narrative of traditional digital platforms. Although it is still in its early stages, Musk claims that it will create a new definition of truth and fairness in the world of knowledge.
