Pakistani singer and actor Farhan Saeed recently shared a terrifying experience from his past concert tour in India, where he narrowly avoided an attack. During an appearance on the show Hansna meansSaeed recalled how a performance of the famous song Dil Dil Pakistan almost led to a dangerous situation during his band’s concert in Kolkata.

According to Farhan  Saeed, his band had visited India as part of the Aman Ki KAA (Hope for Peace) campaign. The initial concert in Delhi went smoothly, where he performed hits like Aadat. However, it was when he performed the iconic Dil Dil Pakistan at the Delhi concert that things took a surprising turn. In a spontaneous moment, he altered the lyrics, singing “Dil Dil Pakistan, Jan Jan Hindustan.” The crowd loved it, and Farhan Saeed felt encouraged to repeat the performance at their next show in Kolkata.

The Kolkata concert was packed, and the energy was high. After performing a few songs, Farhan  Saeed once again sang his rendition of Dil Dil Pakistan but changed the lyrics to “Jan Jan Hindustan.” However, as the song ended, an organizer urgently asked him and his band to leave immediately. Confused and alarmed, Farhan Saeed and his team were rushed out in a car.

It was only later, after they reached their hotel, that the organizer explained the gravity of the situation. He revealed that around 300 to 400 young men had gathered, furious over the altered lyrics, and were ready to attack the band. The organizer blamed the incident on the controversial lyrics, although Farhan Saeed clarified that he had not said “Ja Ja Hindustan” but rather “Jan Jan Hindustan,” a difference that the audience may not have understood.

The incident highlights the delicate political and cultural sensitivities that often accompany performances in rival nations.
