New Delhi: The great festival of faith, Chhath Puja, has now ended. After this ritual which lasts for four days, the worship material and Prasad items are left in many houses. Often people throw away these sacred items due to lack of information, but it is not necessary to do so. You can reuse these things with a little creativity.

Make sweet rice from sugarcane

Sugarcane has special importance in Chhath Puja. If there is sugarcane left in the house after the puja, do not throw it away. You can make sweet rice or kheer by extracting its juice. The taste of rice cooked in sugarcane juice is very unique and delicious.

If raw bananas offered in Prasad are left, then they can have two excellent uses. First, you can make delicious and crunchy chips from them. Secondly, if you want to cook them, then add one or two green cardamoms to the banana bunch and cover it with a cloth in a basket. These bananas will ripen naturally in two to three days.

Manure and sunlight from flowers

It is not considered appropriate to throw away the flowers used in puja. You can bury these flowers in the soil of the pots in your house. Within a short time, these flowers will grow and serve as excellent organic fertilizer for plants. Apart from this, you can dry and grind the flowers and add some camphor and ghee to it and make small incense tikkis. This is a natural way to keep the house fragrant.

If fruits like apple, orange are left after Prasad, then the best way to save them from spoiling is to make fruit custard. Cut all the fruits into small pieces and mix them in the custard. This is a delicious and nutritious sweet, which is liked by children and adults alike.
