Bollywood and Tollywood star Rashmika Mandanna has opened up about the demanding nature of her career, revealing how overworking in the film industry has taken a toll on her health and personal life. As she prepares for the release of her much-anticipated film The Girlfriendthe actress emphasized the importance of finding balance in a career that often blurs the lines between work and well-being.
In a candid interview with Gulte, Rashmika admitted that her grueling schedule—filled with long, unpredictable work hours—has had a negative impact on her lifestyle. “I overwork, and I am telling you it’s highly not suggestible,” she said, stressing the importance of rest and recovery. The actress strongly advised fellow industry professionals to prioritize their health. “It’s not sustainable, don’t do it. Do what’s comfortable for you, get those 8 hours, get those 9–10 hours also, because trust me, that’s going to save you later.”
While she has always been known for her dedication to her craft, Rashmika revealed that if given the choice, she would prefer to follow a more structured work schedule—similar to a “9 to 5” office routine. “If I could choose for myself, I would say, please don’t make us actors do that. Like offices have 9–5, let us have that,” she shared.
The actress, who often finds it difficult to turn down work, explained that she wants more time to focus on personal aspects of life, such as family, health, and future planning. “There’s still a family life I want to focus on, and I still want to work out… but right now I don’t have a say because I’m taking on too much,” she added.
Rashmika’s dedication to her work has not gone unnoticed. Producer SKN praised her for her unwavering commitment, calling her the only “pan-India heroine” willing to work tirelessly for her roles. “Rashmika’s passion and flexibility make her feel like part of the family on set,” he remarked, noting her exceptional work ethic and teamwork spirit.
Rashmika, who has been busy with multiple projects this year, including Chhaava, Sikandar, Why?and Thammais now gearing up for the release of The Girlfrienddirected by Rahul Ravindran, on November 7. She also has Cocktail 2 and Mysa in the pipeline.
Aside from her professional accomplishments, Rashmika is also preparing for a new chapter in her personal life. The actress recently got engaged to long-time partner and actor Vijay Deverakonda, with reports suggesting that the couple plans to marry in April next year.
