Mumbai: Rohit Arya, the man behind hostage of 15-20 children at an acting studio in Mumbai’s Powai, died after a clash with police. As per reports, the man during rescue, opened fire at the police which prompted the personnel to shot him. After the encounter, the man was taken to the hospital with a bullet wound, where he was pronounced dead.
The man identifying himself as Rohit Arya was counducting fake interviews of children in Powai located RA Studios. The parents of children gathered outside the studio after the man locked children who were looking outside from studio’s building in distress.
The police clarified that all 17 children who were held hostage were rescused from the studio. Arya reported by police as mentally retarded also released a video before arrest where he threatned to burn down the entire building if he was triggered.
He emphasised that he wanted to have “simple conversations” and “ask questions” to pressure authorities into talking to him, clarifying he was neither a terrorist nor seeking financial gain.
‘Slight trigger and I will burn the entire building’“I am not a terrorist or a criminal. My demand is simple and ethical for which I took these children on hostage. A slightest move from your end can trigger me to burn down this whole building and die. Wheather I die or not, children will be greatly harmed and traumtised. What happens after this I don’t no, but don’t blame it on me. Blame those people who are unnecessarily triggering when a normal person just wants to talk. I am not alone, may people have similar problem and I can provide solution just by talking,” the man said in the video in Hindi before being arrested.
