India is likely to see widespread rain and thunderstorms through the end of this week, as two major weather systems continue to impact the country’s atmospheric conditions. According to the latest weather bulletin by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy to very heavy rainfall. thunderstorms along with gusty winds are expected across multiple regions from October 30 to November 2. The weather conditions are caused by the combined effect of the remnants of Severe Cyclonic Storm Montha and a depression over the east-central Arabian Sea.
According to the latest bulletin, light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms is likely in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand. Bihar is likely to witness isolated very heavy rainfall today, the weather department said.

Between October 30 and November 1, light to moderate rain and isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Gujarat, Saurashtra region, and Kutch region. The IMD forecast said thunderstorms with lightning to continue across the entire Gujarat region for the next several days, with wind speeds reaching up to 65 kmph along the coast. Thunderstorm with lightning is likely over Gujarat State during next four day with similar weather conditions expected in Maharashtra over the next two days.

Rough sea conditions off north and south Gujarat are expected, combined with gusty winds over the northeast Arabian Sea. By October 31, Saurashtra and Kutch are expected to be among the worst-affected areas, receiving very heavy rainfall. Rainfall will extend inland to the Gujarat region, and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds will remain a persistent feature until at least November 2.

The IMD has warned of rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds in eastern Uttar Pradesh on October 31. "Under the influence of Western disturbance, Light to moderate rainfall/snowfall likely over Northwest India during 03rd-05th November," the IMD said. "Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) likely over East Uttar Pradesh on 30th October; with thunderstorm & lightning over West Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan on 30th and East Uttar Pradesh on 31st October," the bulletin read.

The IMD said extremely heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 31st October. "Thunderstorm with lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) over East Madhya Pradesh on 30th October; East India during next 2-3 days; with thunderstorm and lightning over Vidarbha & Chhattisgarh on 30th & 31st October; Madhya Pradesh during next 5 days," the weather office said in its latest bulletin.Between October 30 and November 1, light to moderate rain and isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Gujarat, Saurashtra region, and Kutch region. Rainfall likely in Arunachal, eastern UP
According to IMD, Light to moderate rain/thunderstorm at some places with isolated heavy rainfall is likely in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya on 31st October & November 1.
