Princess Kate's brother has revealed one thing he "compares notes" on with his royal sister in a new surprise interview. James Middleton, the younger brother of The Princess of Wales, told CountryLife all about his beehives.
It is believed James was given the beehives as a present by his family. While beekeeping is not a hobby all his relatives enjoy, it is something loved by his sister Princess Kate, 43, who reportedly has her own beehives at Amner Hall in Sandringham.
The princess is believed to be passionate about bees and enjoys making her own honey.
Speaking to CountryLife, James, 38, has now revealed: "My sister Catherine [The Princess of Wales] shares a love of bees and has a few hives herself - I wouldn't say it's a competition, but we definitely compare notes."
He also revealed that he has "never stopped being fascinated" by bees.
Princess Kate is just one of a number of royals who enjoy beekeeping, with King Charles and Meghan Markle also having their own beehives.
In 2023, The Princess of Wales shared a photograph of herself at one of her beehives in a beekeeping suit to mark World Bee Day.
Then just months ago, Princess Kate and Melania Trump stepped out for a joint engagement in September and spent time with a group of Squirrel Scouts on the Windsor Castle estate.
The princess organised a packed lunch for the children, which included sandwiches made with honey from Kate's own beehive.
This is not the first time she has made a gesture like this, with Prince William's wife taking a jar of her own homemade honey with her on a visit to The Natural History Museum in 2021.
She could be heard saying to children at the Urban Nature Project event: "Would you like to try some? This came specially from my beehive."
