Bollywood has had various divas over the decades — from yesteryear actresses like Madhubala Nargis Dutt Meena Kumari Rekha and Sharmila Tagore to the 90s icons like Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit. The industry has seen numerous timeless beauties. However did you know there was one actress who achieved name fame love and everything in between in just a couple of years? Bollywoods Brightest Actress Died at 19
This actress completed 12 films in a single year. Not just that she delivered 13 hit films in one year. While all this sounds hard to believe the actress in question is none other than the late star Divya Bharti.
Divya was known as a unique talent in the Indian film industry. She started working in films at the age of 14 and quickly gained name and fame. Around the same time she also ventured into modelling — both fields bringing her tremendous achievements.
While Divya was climbing the ladder of success fate had something else in store for her. She passed away at the age of 19.
During her short time in the industry Divya set a record that remains unbeaten even after 31 years. She appeared in 21 movies across South Indian cinema and Bollywood. Out of these 13 were superhits while the rest performed decently at the box office.
Divya Bharti’s Debut
Divya Bharti began her acting career with the Tamil film Nila Pennae in 1990. She rose to fame with the Telugu hit Bobbili Raja and made her Bollywood debut with Vishwatma in 1992 marking her entry into Hindi cinema.
How Did Divya Bharti Die?
On April 5 1993 fate took a tragic turn for Divya. She died after falling from the balcony of her house under mysterious circumstances. She was just 19 years old.
The news of her death left the Bollywood industry in deep shock. It created a void that even after years still hasn’t been filled.
