Sonakshi Sinha: an actress who will next be seen in “Jatadhara,” is thinking back on her classic movie “Lootera.” The actress said that it was her third or fourth movie after the successful premiere of “Dabangg,” and that others close to her discouraged her against doing the movie due to its poor financial prospects.

Nevertheless, she followed her gut and nodded to the movie. In an interview with IANS before to “Jatadhara’s” premiere, Sonakshi recapped her favorite moments from the movie.

Sonakshi Sinha’s heavenly but menacing appearance as Dhan Pisachani in Jatadhara was the result of over three months of meticulous study and design, according to producer Prerna Arora. This combination of myth, beauty, and cosmic might was achieved.
“I mean it just amazes me,” the actress told IANS while discussing the type of affection “Lootera” still receives 12 years after its premiere. “We loved you in ‘Lootera,'” is the first thing people say to me whenever I meet them. It is just amazing for a movie to still have that type of effect after all these years, and I am so honored and grateful to have contributed to it. It’s among my favorite work-related experiences.

“This was probably the third or fourth movie I had signed at the time, and many people had told me, ‘Don’t do this film,'” she said. And since I saw myself as Paakhi, I followed my instincts and gut and said, “No, whatever happens, I will do this film.” I’m pleased I did because I still get a lot of affection for that one role now. It’s just stunning.

In the meanwhile, Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek Jaiswal are the directors of the mythological-supernatural thriller “Jatadhara.” Shilpa Shirodkar and Sudheer Babu are also featured in the movie. It weaves a tale around an old treasure protected by demonic powers, delving into the murky intersections of black magic, avarice, and Indian culture. Sudheer Babu plays a man enticed into a sinister realm of rites and atonement, while Sonakshi Sinha plays an enigmatic pishachini (female ghost).

The film, which is co-produced by Akshay Kejriwal and Kussum Arora and is produced by Umesh KR Bansal, Prerna Arora, Aruna Agarwal, and Shivin Narang of Zed Studios, with Creative Producers Divya Vijay and Sagar Ambre, is scheduled to be released in Telugu and Hindi on November 7, 2025.
