This time too, NDA has raised old issues and made the 2005 rule the main issue.
Old issue of crime and NDA in Bihar
The increasing incidents of crime in Bihar have affected the image of the state. NDA is raising this issue again, while the Grand Alliance is working on its strategy regarding this. Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi are trying to influence the youth of Bihar with promises of employment and monthly assistance for women. However, the grand alliance has not completely ignored the issue of crime and has tried to prove its claim of good governance hollow by citing several criminal incidents including the Mokama massacre.
Tejashwi Yadav, citing NCRB data, said that Bihar is on top in terms of crime and promised that if his government is formed, all criminals and anti-social elements will be behind the bars between 26 November 2025 and 26 January 2026.
Emphasis on change and employment among voters of Bihar
The voters of Bihar have now become more aware than before. According to the Election Commission data, there are a total of 7 crore 41 lakh 92 thousand voters in the state, out of which 1 crore 77 lakh voters are in the age group of 18 to 29 years. This youth has not been able to see the rule of the Grand Alliance, hence the narrative of Jungle Raj cannot be as effective for them. According to the survey of Lokniti-CSDS 2020, while unemployment and jobs were considered the most important issues in 2015, in 2020 this issue has become primary for 20% of the voters.
According to the survey, 37% of youth aged 18 to 29 voted for the Grand Alliance, while 36% chose the NDA. However, NDA had got more support among women, due to which this time also NDA has given prominence to the issue of Jungle Raj to woo women voters.
Tejashwi and Rahul Gandhi's attack on unemployment and migration
Tejashwi Yadav is making unemployment, migration and lack of local jobs the main issues of his election campaign. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar that the government of Bihar is now controlled from Delhi and the problems of the state are being ignored. They are also trying to heat up the election atmosphere by linking national issues like inflation and inequality with the local issues of Bihar.
Rahul Gandhi in his speeches attacked PM Modi, saying that his foreign policy and internal policies are weak, and that BJP only promotes the international popularity of the Prime Minister.
Will the voters of Bihar change their priorities?
Now it has to be seen whose narrative and promises the voters of Bihar will believe, whether they will accept NDA's promises of good governance, or support the Grand Alliance's promises of employment and social justice. Issues like crime, employment, women's safety, and development can prove to be decisive in the electoral battle.
