In today’s fast-paced life, we make our body do a lot of work, but give very little time to cleaning it. Just as dust accumulates in a house and it becomes stale, similarly mangoes start accumulating in the body. Its effects are seen in the form of fatigue, bloating, gas, constipation, dull mind and dull skin.
Ayurveda says first cleansing, then nutrition and then reconstruction. Mango accumulated in the body is the root of most diseases. Therefore, it is important to clean the body from within from time to time.
To clean the body, first take care of the liver. Consume bitter tastes like bitter gourd, fenugreek and neem with warm water. Drinking water of turmeric, cumin and coriander is also beneficial. Ayurvedic medicines like Bhu Amla Ras and Punarnava Churna can help. Making bottle gourd-mint soup at home and drinking a bowl of it in the morning cleanses the liver and keeps digestion healthy.
The second thing is cleaning the intestines and digestive system. Eating light food at night helps in keeping the intestines healthy.
The third is kidney care. For this, it is important to drink enough water, reduce salt and avoid packaged drinks. In Ayurveda, drinking Gokshura and cumin-coriander-raisin water at home keeps the urethra clean and reduces swelling.
To cleanse the blood, include green vegetables, beetroot and bitter tastes in small amounts. Taking Manjistha and Coriander water regularly purifies the blood and brings glow to the skin. The body also detoxifies through skin and sweat. Walk and do light exercise every morning. Take things like turmeric-lemon or neem powder in lukewarm water. Steam, Anulom-Vilom and adequate sleep also keep the skin and mind clean.
Cleaning the lungs is also important. Avoid dust and smoke, sleep well, consume some ghee and take Triphala or Isabgol at night. Inhaling celery steam loosens the mucus and keeps the lungs clean.
