Diane Ladd passes away at the age of 89“She was the greatest daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artist, and empathetic spirit that only dreams could have seemingly created. We were blessed to have her. She is flying with her angels now,” she said in the statement. The mother-daughter duo shared a great bond – and even endured a spectrum of conversations from talking about the hardships to speaking about the things that made them laugh the hardest.

Diane Ladd and Laura Dern: The hardest conversationIn the resurfaced interview by People , when asked about the hardest conversation to have, the duo mentioned Laura’s late sister, who passed away when she was 18 months old due to a drowning accident. Dern expressed that talking about the experience marked a significant point in their relationship, as it opened the gates and they realised that they could talk about anything. “The worst was to talk to her about her sister’s death, which I hadn’t really done because I didn’t want to put her through that. But I wasn’t doing her a favor by not sharing that—to go back there and talk about a pain that one never truly ever gets over,” Ladd had said.

Diane Ladd and Laura Dern: The conversation that makes them laugh the hardestWhen asked about one of the hardest things that made them laugh, they recalled the chapter called ‘The Haircut.’ The late actress took her grandson, Ellery, to get a long haircut without discussing it with Dern. “That made me laugh the hardest, that we are still both so angry and both absolutely confident that we are right,” Ladd said, adding that the other one was wrong.
