Chinmayi Sripada a talented singer has responded strongly to a troll who mocked her past sexual abuse experience. The incident started when a user on X (formerly Twitter) brought up Chinmayis 2018 allegations against lyricist Vairamuthu saying she couldnt save herself when she was molested.
Chinmayi Sripadas hard hit on trolls
Chinmayi didnt hold back and lashed out at the troll saying Yes because getting groped and molested is MY fault. Why do men like you have to bring up my sexual harassment episode and my molester to prove some non-point? Just please vanish into thin air in Delhi so that I dont have to breathe it. The singers response highlights the insensitivity and victim-blaming that survivors of sexual abuse often face.
What is the entire matter?
The controversy began when Chinmayis husband actor Rahul Ravindran said in an interview that wearing a mangalsutra should be a womans choice since men dont have any visible symbol to show theyre married. Chinmayi has been vocal about womens rights and has spoken out against harassment and online vilification of survivors.
