Significant Drug Seizure in Thane
In Thane, Maharashtra, authorities have apprehended four individuals following the seizure of narcotics valued at ₹2.14 crore. This operation was reported by officials on Wednesday.
Acting on suspicions, officers from the anti-narcotics unit stopped a vehicle near the MTNL office in the Charai area on Monday evening for inspection.
According to a police officer from the Naupada station, they discovered 1.716 kilograms of methamphetamine, commonly known as 'mefedrone,' worth ₹2,14,32,000, and the vehicle was also confiscated.
The arrested suspects include Imran alias Bachchu Khizar Khan (37), the driver from Madhya Pradesh, businessman Vikas Abdulrab Khan (30), farmer Takuddin Rafiq Khan (30), and laborer Kamlesh Ajay Chauhan (23).
Authorities have filed charges against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and the investigation is ongoing.
