According to reports she had been battling a prolonged illness. Sulakshanas Early Life and Career Born on July 12 1954 in Raigarh Chhattisgarh Sulakshana Pandit belonged to a Pandit family which gave the world several noted musicians including her brothers Jatin-Lalit the famous music composer duo. She started her musical journey when she was just nine and her talent quickly caught the attention of leading composers of the era. She made her playback singing debut in 1967 with the film Taqdeer where she sang alongside the legendary Lata Mangeshkar in the evergreen number “Saat Samandar Paar Se.” The song became an instant hit and further cemented her image. Later she went on to deliver many soulful tracks. From Singing to Acting While music remained her first love Sulakshana’s beauty and charm soon brought her in front of the camera. She made her acting debut in 1975 with Uljhan opposite Sanjeev Kumar marking the beginning of a new chapter in her career. Her performance was appreciated for its sincerity and grace leading to a series of film offers. Over the years she appeared in popular films like Hera Pheri Apnapan Khandaan and Waqt Ki Deewar.
