Janashakti Janata Dal chief Tej Pratap, who was recently expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has now claimed that there is a serious threat to his security and his enemies may get him killed. He said his security had been beefed up, but did not specify which individuals or groups he was under threat from. His statement has become a topic of discussion in political circles amid Bihar Assembly elections.

Tej Pratap Yadav is contesting from Mahua seat and his new political journey has started after Lalu Prasad Yadav expelled him from the party for six years for alleged undisciplined conduct. Just a day before this, Tej Pratap had claimed in a post on social media that he is in “a relationship”. Later he deleted the post and said that his account was hacked, but after this incident Lalu Prasad publicly distanced himself from him.

Speaking to reporters, Tej Pratap said, “My security has been increased. I am in danger. My enemies can get me killed. Now everyone seems like an enemy.” He said he recognized those who were conspiring against him, but refused to name anyone. His tone during the statement appeared more insecure than aggressive.

However, amid political tension and family rift, he also wished his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav on his birthday. He said, “My prayers are always with him. May he keep moving forward.” This indicates that despite political differences, family feelings have not completely ended.

After the eviction, Tej Pratap continuously hinted that a rift has been created between him and Tejashwi and some people have pitted them against each other. He had used the word “Jaichand” in his social media posts, hinting that there was a person or group whom he considered disloyal.

The relations within the Lalu family are already complex in Bihar politics, and this statement by Tej Pratap has added another layer to the election environment. The administration has taken steps for their security, but there is no clarity about the source of the threat.
