Pune, City Representative Pune Municipal Corporation Hospitals, Dispensaries, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs Non Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control Program was conducted from January 2025. Seven lakh citizens were examined in this. One lakh citizens have been diagnosed with non-communicable diseases. Non-communicable diseases include heart disease, cancer, Diabetesincluding chronic respiratory diseases. Under this, the program is being implemented in 19 hospitals, 54 clinics, 72 Ayushman Health Temples of Pune Municipal Corporation. In terms of health, non-communicable diseases are rapidly spreading in the city. The prevalence of non-communicable diseases is higher than communicable diseases such as water-borne or insect-borne diseases such as blood pressure-heart disease, respiratory disease, cancer, diabetes, cancer in twelve women; 720027 blood pressure tests were conducted on 61 thousand people and 61231 people were diagnosed with high blood pressure. Out of 707,400 diabetes tests, 38,864 people have been diagnosed with diabetes. Out of 647,282 oral cancer screenings, 28 people were diagnosed with cancer. Out of 291853 breast cancer screenings, 23 people were diagnosed with breast cancer. Out of 183,934 tests for uterine cancer, 12 women were diagnosed with uterine cancer. Heart disease Cancer Chronic respiratory disease Diabetes and other non-communicable diseases 63% of the total deaths are due to non-communicable diseases.
Programs and portal training were conducted for a total of 449 employees such as nurses, regional medical officers, district and regional nurses. In December 2024, Pune Municipal Corporation and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College conducted 88 tests for infectious diseases without diagnosis. Therefore, it is necessary for citizens to go to the nearest municipal hospital and clinic for examination. These are chronic diseases. So citizens need to be careful, says Dr. Vaishali Jadhav, Assistant Health Officer Pune Municipal Corporation said.
From January 2025 to November 9, 63 people have been diagnosed with cancer. Given the increased risk of non-communicable diseases, frequent check-ups are necessary to control these. Non-communicable diseases cannot be diagnosed without examinations and tests. A training program was conducted on visual inspection by acetic acid for ovarian cancer screening. A total of 133 people such as medical officers and nurses from theaters were trained as trainers.

This 24 week course will end on 6th March 2026. The last date of registration is 20 February 2026 and online examination will be held on 3 March 2026. Exam date can be changed as per requirement. The course covers eight subjects namely principles of management, planning, organizing, personnel management, direction and control. The 30-module course will include video tutorials, written material, web links and self-assessment tools. Students will also get help through discussion forums. This ‘core’ course in English medium will be useful for students interested in business and management as well as preparing for board exams. A certificate will be given after completing the course.
