In a heartbreaking incident in the Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh, police recovered the bodies of three minor sisters from a dilapidated well in the village of Aari on Monday night. The sisters had been missing since Monday evening.
According to Station House Officer Satypal Singh Yadav, the bodies of Ruchi (7 years), Pushpa (5 years), and Diksha (3 years), daughters of Rammu Ahirwar, were retrieved from the well located in the fields of Tijwa Ahirwar, situated a short distance from the village settlement.
The initial investigation suggests that the sisters may have slipped and fallen into the well while playing nearby. Upon receiving the report, Superintendent of Police Prabal Pratap Singh, along with Additional Superintendent of Police Vandana Singh and other senior officials, arrived at the scene to commence an investigation.
In another tragic event, a fetal remains of a girl was found in a garbage heap in the Beta-2 area of Noida on Sunday. The police, who arrived at the scene, took the remains into custody and sent them for post-mortem examination.
Authorities suspect that the parents may have discarded the fetus due to societal pressures after an abortion, as the fetus is estimated to be around seven months old.
Inspector Vinod Kumar from Beta-2 police station reported that sanitation workers employed by the Greater Noida Authority discovered the fetal remains while cleaning near the village of Aichhar. They promptly notified the police, who confirmed that the remains belonged to a female fetus.
The remains have been sent for post-mortem, and a DNA test will be conducted. Initial findings indicate that the parents may have abandoned the fetus due to societal stigma surrounding the situation. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
