Ban on online money games across the country: New law comes into effect from October 1 Gujarati

New Delhi : Now the government has decided to impose a complete ban on online money games. Strict laws will come into force against these games to gambling and betting activities on the internet from October 1, 2025. This law will not only apply to gambling-based games, but will also apply to promotions and financial transactions.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “The government was in discussion with online gaming companies for the last three years. Now the Parliament has passed the law and its rules have been finalized. We have given enough time to the banks and companies. Now it will be implemented from October 1.”

According to the government, any game based on online gambling and betting will come under strict laws. If any person’s company promotes these games, he will be sentenced to 2 years in jail and a fine of Rs. Fine can be up to Rs 50 lakh. If banks or online payment apps facilitate such financial transactions, they will be punished with jail up to 3 years and a fine of Rs. A fine of up to Rs 1 crore will be imposed. Those who repeatedly violate the law will be punished more severely.

The government has given a clear message that it is better to stay away from online money games, otherwise you will have to face strict action. Banks and fintech companies have been instructed to make immediate technical improvements in their systems. The government has assured cooperation, but there will be no relaxation in law enforcement.
