India A suffered a shocking batting collapse and went down to Pakistan Shaheens by eight wickets in the Asia Cup Rising Stars match on Sunday. After winning the toss Pakistan Shaheens chose to field and made a stunning comeback bowling India A out for just 136 after they had been 91 for 3 in the 10th over. Chasing 137 Pakistan reached the target comfortably with 40 balls remaining claiming their second consecutive win in the tournament while India A suffered their first defeat after starting with a big win against the UAE. Opener Maaz Sadaqat starred for Pakistan scoring an unbeaten 79 off 47 balls and also taking two wickets with his left-arm spin. During his innings Sadaqat hit seven fours and four sixes and survived a dropped catch by Vaibhav Suryavanshi at point. Batting first 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi impressed again scoring 45 off 28 balls while Naman Dhir made 35 off 20. However Pakistan’s bowlers fought back with medium pacer Shahid Aziz taking 3/24 in three overs. Saad Masood and Maaz Sadaqat took two wickets each as India A lost eight wickets for just 35 runs in the last 10 overs after looking set for a total around 175-180. Suryavanshi who had scored a record hundred in the previous match played aggressively with several fours and sixes but was eventually caught at long-on off Sufiyan Muqeem’s bowling. This wicket shifted the momentum in Pakistans favor. Following this breakthrough Aziz Masood and Sadaqat bowled with discipline to completely dominate the remaining India A batters.
