Maharashtra’s women enrolled in the Ladki Bahin Yojana have only one day left to update their e-KYC details. The state government has announced that November 18 is the final deadline for completing the mandatory verification. Failing to do so will result in the automatic suspension of the monthly ₹1,500 assistance provided under the scheme.
The Ladki Bahin Yojana, launched in June 2024, aims to support women across the state by offering a direct financial benefit of ₹1,500 per month. Currently, one crore women in Maharashtra are registered beneficiaries. The financial support is transferred directly to their bank accounts through the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) system.
However, the government has made it clear that only women who complete their Aadhaar-based e-KYC on time will continue receiving the benefit. Payments will be automatically withheld for those who miss the deadline.
Why e-KYC Is MandatoryAccording to the Maharashtra government, e-KYC ensures that benefits reach the rightful and genuine beneficiaries. It helps prevent duplicate entries, fake registrations, and misuse of public funds.
In its order issued in September 2025, the state government referred to Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act 2016, which mandates Aadhaar authentication to ensure accurate delivery of subsidies and welfare assistance. The UIDAI has granted the Women and Child Development Department the authority of Sub-AUA/Sub-KUA, allowing it to carry out Aadhaar verification independently.
This is why the official scheme portal now includes an integrated e-KYC feature to streamline verification for all beneficiaries.
Last Date for e-KYC: November 18With the cutoff date approaching, the state has urged all eligible women to complete their verification immediately. Officials have warned that delays or failure to update Aadhaar details by November 18, 2025, will directly impact the monthly disbursal of ₹1,500.
Women who have already completed the e-KYC process will continue receiving their payments smoothly through DBT.
