These companies filled the pockets of investors
The year 2025 is writing a new chapter in the history of the Indian stock market. If you invest in the stock market or keep an eye on the market news, then you must have realized that this year there has been a rise in the primary market i.e. IPO. Investors are standing in queue to invest money in new companies and the market is also not disappointing them. The figures bear witness to the fact that we are very close to breaking last year's record.
So far this year, 87 companies have entered the market with their IPO. These companies have collectively raised more than Rs 1.5 lakh crore. This figure has reached very close to the total collection of 2024 (Rs 1.6 lakh crore). But, all that glitters is not gold. While some companies have made investors rich, some have dashed their expectations.
The biggest question for the common investor is “Will I make money?” The figures for the year 2025 have been quite positive in this matter. This year, about 66 percent of the companies that entered the market have given profits to investors on their very first day (Listing Day).
If we look in detail, there were 19 companies which gave tremendous returns ranging from 20 to 75 percent on the day of listing. That means if someone invested money in these IPOs, their money increased hugely in a single day. At the same time, 12 companies gave a respectable profit of 10 to 19 percent, while there were 27 companies which started with a nominal gain of between 1 to 10 percent. This trend shows that if the right company is chosen, the IPO market is still a great source of earning.
Now let us talk about those stocks which made the most headlines in the year 2025. According to stock market data, Highway Infrastructure has proved to be the biggest 'hero' of this year. The shares of this company jumped 75.5 percent on the day of listing. Imagine, 75 percent profit in a single day.
Right behind it was Urban Company, which has made its mark in every household, which entered at a handsome premium of 62.2 percent. Aditya Infotech also did not disappoint the investors and gave a return of 60.6 percent. Another interesting name is Physicswallah, which is a big name in the education sector and its IPO also made its place in the market with a profit of 38.5 percent. A trusted brand like LG Electronics India also proved the importance of brand value in the market by giving returns of about 48 percent.

The other aspect of the stock market is risk, and this was seen in 2025 also. Not every IPO gave profit. Shares of some companies reduced investors' capital on the day of listing. OM Freight Forwarders remained at the bottom of this list, whose shares fell by almost 36 percent on the very first day. That means an investment of Rs 100 reduced to Rs 64 on the very first day.
Apart from this, investors of Glottis and BMW Ventures also suffered losses of 35% and 23% respectively. Arisinfra Solutions and Laxmi India Finance were also among the names that performed disappointingly on their debut. This decline is a lesson for new investors that investing money only after seeing the publicity of IPO can be costly. It is very important to understand the fundamentals of the company and the market situation.

A very important thing that emerges from these figures is that the performance on the listing day alone does not decide the ultimate future of the company. There are some shares which may have fallen on listing, but later made a tremendous comeback.
For example, look at Ather Energy. This share had fallen by about 6 percent on the day of listing, but if we look at its returns today, it is 102 percent above the listing price. Similarly, Quality Power Electrical had lost about 9% on listing, but till now it has given a return of 94%. On the other hand, Highway Infrastructure, which gave a bumper listing, has fallen by 1% since the listing.
