Raipur, 19 November. Amidst the questions raised regarding the promotion examination in the Revenue Department in Chhattisgarh, on Wednesday morning the Anti-Corruption Bureau – Economic Offenses Wing (ACB-EOW) carried out a major action and raided several places simultaneously in many districts of the state. This action has been taken at the locations of those officers and employees who took part in the examination to become Revenue Inspector (RI) from Patwari.
According to primarily unconfirmed sources, teams searched records and documents at more than 20 locations including Raipur, Mahasamund, Gariaband, Jagdalpur, Ambikapur, Durg and Bilaspur. Preliminary information has revealed that complaints of large-scale irregularities in this promotion examination held in 2024 had reached the government, after which the investigating agencies became active.
It is being said that many serious aspects like manipulation in the promotion process and irregular checking of marks are being investigated. This issue has also been raised in the Assembly, after which the matter took a more serious turn. Many important documents and digital materials are reported to have been seized during the raid.
The investigating agency has not yet issued an official statement, but a thorough investigation into the list of officers under the ambit of action and the examination process is underway. There may be more revelations regarding this matter in the coming days.
