The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a trial run of its revamped Aadhaar app which introduces a selective share feature allowing users to share only specific data from their Aadhaar profile with verifying entities thus boosting user privacy and data security. How selective share protects user privacy? The innovative feature in the new Aadhaar app allows users to share only the part of their data required for verification purposes in various situations unlike earlier when sharing Aadhaar data meant sharing the whole set. Users can choose to share specific data from their Aadhaar profile such as name address picture address date of birth email mobile number etc. With the Selective Share feature of new Aadhaar App share only the part of your data that you need to share with the verifying entity - No more oversharing of data UIDAI shared on its official X handle. Where to get the app? Notably the new Aadhaar app is still in beta-testing stage but UIDAI has invited users to test the apps features and share their feedback. Early adopters can share their feedback on feedback.app@uidai.net.in it said.
