New Delhi: Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has reached a major point in its India operations by completing the production of 2 million vehicles. The company has been in India for 25 years, and this milestone shows how much its business has grown, especially in the last few years. October 2025 was the Group’s best month ever in India, showing how important the country has become for its global plans.
The company manufactured over 500,000 vehicles on the MQB-A0-IN platform. This platform was created in India by local engineers. It supports models such as the Skoda Kushaq, Slavia, Kylaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus. These cars have played a key role in the company’s recent success. The company built the last 500,000 units in only about three and a half years, which indicates high demand for cars made in India.
Skoda and Volkswagen sales recordBoth Skoda and Volkswagen have seen strong sales. Skoda Auto India recorded its highest-ever 10-month performance, selling 61,607 units in 2025,Volkswagen India also saw record demand during Diwali, especially for the Virtus sedan, which now holds more than 40% share in the premium sedan category.

Bentley, Porsche, Audi and Lamborghini drive growthThe Group’s luxury brands also added to its market strength. Bentley began a new phase in India by setting up Bentley India under SAVWIPL. They also opened new showrooms in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Porsche India expanded its customer base by over 4,400 buyers in six years and now has 13 sales outlets across the country.
Audi hit several milestones too, the RS Q8 won the Performance Car of the Year at the 2025 AutoX Awards, and Audi Approved: plus grew by 5% between January and September 2025. Audi also continued installing charging points under its Charge My Audi programme, crossing 6,500 chargers in Phase II.
Lamborghini, the Group’s super-luxury brand, recorded its best year in 2024 with 113 units sold, a 10% rise over 2023. The launch of the Temerario in India, after the Revuelto and Urus SE, also completed Lamborghini’s move towards hybrid models as part of its long-term strategy.
