World's Largest Shivling in Bihar: A 33-foot Shivalinga has been completed for the world's largest Virat Ramayana temple being built in Chakia, East Champaran, Bihar. Construction of this Shivalinga has been underway for the past 10 years in Pattikadu village, Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu.

This 33-foot Shivalinga is made of granite stone. On Friday, November 21, 2025, this Shivalinga was transported from Mahabalipuram to the Virat Ramayana Temple in Champaran on a 96-wheeled truck.

What did the founder of the Shivling manufacturing company say?

Before the Shivalinga was sent off, it was ritually worshipped, with villagers also joining in. Vinayak Venkataraman, founder of the company that made the Shivalinga, said it cost approximately 3 crore rupees to make.

This Shivalinga will be installed in the Virat Ramayana Temple around February next year. However, it is expected to be installed in the temple by mid-January.

The Shivalinga was completed in 10 years.

The creation of this massive Shivalinga took 10 years of hard work by the artists. It will take approximately 20 to 25 days to transport the Shivalinga from Mahabalipuram to the Virat Ramayana Temple in East Champaran, Bihar.

The Shivalinga weighs 210 metric tons. The company that made the Shivalinga stated that people will be able to see it in several states and cities along the way.

The foundation stone of the temple was laid in the year 2023

This is the largest Shivalinga ever installed in any temple in India. The Virat Ramayan Temple is being constructed by the Mahavir Mandir Trust Committee. Work on the Ganesha Sthal, the Lion Gate, Nandi, the Shivalinga, and the sanctum sanctorum at the temple's entrance has been completed.

The Virat Ramayana Temple will be 1,080 feet long and 540 feet wide. It will have a total of 18 spires and 22 temples, with the main spire being 270 feet high, four spires being 180 feet high, one spire being 135 feet high, eight spires being 108 feet high, and one spire being 90 feet high.

Shivling will go from these places.

The foundation stone for this temple was laid on June 20, 2023. The temple is being constructed in Janakinagar, between Kesaria and Chakia in the East Champaran district of Bihar. The temple is approximately 110 kilometres from Patna.

From Mahabalipuram, this Shivalinga will be brought to Chakia Virat Ramayana Temple via Hosur, Hosakote, Devanahalli, Kurnool, Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Nagpur, Sivani, Jabalpur, Company, Maihar, Satna, Rewa, Mirzapur, Ara, Chhapra, Masrakh, Mohammadpur, Kesaria.
