Fried foods: play a major role in weight gain. Samosas, kachouris, parathas, pakoras and french fries are all loaded with oil and trans fat. They are very high in calories. By consuming them regularly, fat accumulates most rapidly in the abdomen, waist and hips. So, if you want to lose weight, avoid fried foods even once a week.

Sweets and sugary foods: Eliminate sweets from your diet immediately. Daily tea, coffee and biscuits raise blood sugar and cause fat storage. This leads to weight gain and increased appetite, which disrupts metabolism. In such cases, jaggery, dates or fruits are better options.

Refined foods: Refined noodles, pizza, momos, wafers and white bread contain neither fiber nor nutrition. Consuming them every other day can lead to accumulation of fat around the stomach. So, choose healthy options like oats, bajra, jowar and ragi in your diet.

Cold drinks and packaged juices: These are high in sugar and have no nutritional value. It increases belly fat quickly. Empty calories are stored as body fat. If you must drink a beverage, choose lemon water, coconut water, or plain water.
