Rachel Reeves delivered her budget this afternoon as she attempts to plug holes in the nation's finances. Amongst the raft of measures announced were plans to measures designed to help millions of hardworking families struggling with household costs.
The Chancellor announced plans to increase taxes and remove the two child benefit cap, whilst promising to reduce debt and cut NHS waiting lists. Within the budget was a range of measures affecting pensioners, including a pledge to maintain the pension triple lock for this parliament, meaning that pensioners on the full new state pension will receive an extra £575 a year from April 2026.
