‘Celebration of life…’: Dharmendra’s prayer meet to be held at Bandra’s hotel; Deol Family shares invitation, Sonu Nigam to pay tribute to Bollywood’s ‘He-Man’

The prayer meet for veteran actor Dharmendra who passed away earlier this week is scheduled for Thursday evening at Mumbai’s Taj Lands End hotel. According to PTI preparations are in progress to organise a quiet and dignified gathering where the Deol family friends from the film industry and well-wishers can pay their last respects to the legendary star. Dharmendra’s Passing The prayer service is being held three days after his demise. Dharmendra died on November 24 at the age of 89 at his Juhu residence following a week-long illness. He was cremated the same day at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle. Venue and Details of the Prayer Meet The Deol family announced the prayer meet through an invitation poster shared online. The poster includes a childhood photograph of Dharmendra with the words “Celebration of Life.” It reads: “Dharmendra – 8 December 1935 to 24 November 2025. Prayer meet on 27 November 2025 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm.” The venue is listed as Seaside Lawns Taj Lands End Bandra Mumbai. Reports suggest that singer Sonu Nigam may perform some of Dharmendra’s iconic songs during the ceremony. Bollywood to Gather in Full Strength Dharmendra’s funeral held on the day of his passing saw the attendance of several major names from the film fraternity including Amitabh Bachchan Shah Rukh Khan Aamir Khan Salman Khan and others. Stars such as Alia Bhatt Ranbir Kapoor Hrithik Roshan Saif Ali Khan Kareena Kapoor Varun Dhawan Allu Arvind and many more came together to offer their condolences. The film features Agastya Nanda as Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. Dharmendra portrays Brigadier Khetarpal the brave 21-year-old war hero’s father while Jaideep Ahlawat plays a significant role.
