Bollywood continues to grieve the passing of legendary actor Dharmendra, and on Wednesday, an emotional moment unfolded as his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol immersed his ashes in the Holy Ganga.

The ceremony took place in Haridwar, where close family members gathered in silence to offer their final prayers. A video from the rituals surfaced online, showing Sunny and Bobby standing together in deep grief, gently releasing the ashes into the sacred waters.

A final goodbye to Bollywood’s He-Man

Dharmendra passed away on November 24 at the age of 89. He had been placed on ventilator support weeks earlier due to breathing difficulties, after which he was discharged and continued receiving treatment at home. His death marked the end of an illustrious era in Bollywood.

Tributes from all the corners

From seasoned actors to filmmakers, the industry has been united in mourning. Akshay Kumar remembered Dharmendra as the hero every young boy aspired to be. Karan Johar, who directed Dharmendra in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, penned a heartfelt note that read, "It is an end of an ERA.. a massive mega star the embodiment of a HERO in mainstream cinema incredibly handsome and the most enigmatic screen presence he is and will always be a bonafide Legend of Indian Cinema defining and richly present in the pages of cinema history but mostly he was the best human being he was so loved by everyone in our industry."

Dharmendra’s final on-screen appearance

Although he is no longer with us, audiences will get to witness Dharmendra one last time in 'Ikkis', directed by Sriram Raghavan . The film narrates the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, and stars Agastya Nanda in the lead role. The film is releasing on Christmas, December 25, 2025.
