The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) is considered the most reliable scheme for millions of farmers across the country. It provides hassle-free, direct transfer of ₹2,000 into their bank accounts three times a year. Under the PM Kisan Yojana, farmers have already received benefits up to the 21st installment. Just last month, PM Modi transferred approximately ₹18,000 crore (approximately ₹18,000 crore) of the 21st installment of the PM Kisan Yojana directly to the bank accounts of 9 crore farmers through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). The 21st installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) has already been credited to the accounts of most farmers across the country.

Although millions of farmers have already joined this scheme, many still want to apply for the first time but are unsure about how to register, who can benefit from this scheme, what the eligibility criteria are, and what documents are required. Farmers often rely on others for assistance, but the entire process is so simple that anyone can complete it from home.

Today, we're going to provide all the information related to applying for the PM Kisan Yojana, including eligibility, required documents, the registration process, and all the steps to apply in simple language.

What is the PM Kisan Yojana?
The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a central government scheme under which the Government of India provides farmers with a total financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year. This money is sent directly to their bank accounts in three installments of ₹2,000.

Who can avail of this benefit?

This scheme only benefits landholder farmers, meaning those whose cultivable land is registered in their name. Land is considered to be land that is registered in the farmer's name in government records. Small and marginal farmers, who own up to 2 hectares of land, are also fully eligible.

Some people are not eligible for this scheme. For example, government employees (active or retired), professionals receiving a pension of ₹10,000 or more, and taxpayers are not eligible.

What documents are required for the PM Kisan Yojana?
Applying for this scheme doesn't require a lot of paperwork. Only these four things are required...

Proof of citizenship (ID proof)
Aadhaar card
Bank account details (IFSC, account number)
Documents related to land ownership
One important thing to keep in mind is that your Aadhaar card must be linked to your bank account. If Aadhaar is not linked, the application will not proceed.

Why is e-KYC necessary?

Under the PM Kisan Yojana, every farmer is required to complete e-KYC. This is done through OTP or biometric verification. Installments are not received without e-KYC, so completing it along with registration is essential.
