The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has opened recruitment for 134 positions, offering a valuable opportunity for candidates seeking a stable government job. The educational requirements vary according to the post. Here’s a detailed breakdown:
Project Scientist (E, III, II, I):
Candidates must possess degrees such as MSc, BTech, or BE in relevant fields. Those holding advanced qualifications like PhD or MTech and candidates with prior professional experience will receive additional preference during the selection process.
Scientific Assistant:
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in Science, Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or Telecommunications.
Administrative Assistant:
A graduate degree in any discipline along with strong computer proficiency is mandatory.
IMD has prescribed different maximum age limits for each post:
Project Scientist–E: Up to 50 years
Project Scientist–III: Up to 45 years
Project Scientist–II: Up to 40 years
Project Scientist–I: Up to 35 years
Relaxations in the upper age limit will be provided as per the Government of India norms for candidates belonging to reserved categories.
The recruitment process does not involve any written examination. Instead, IMD follows a two-step approach:
