Vijayawada: Following the state government’s approval of a specially designed incentive package worth up to Rs 601.87 crore, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the fast-moving consumer goods division of Reliance Industries, plans to invest Rs 1,622 crore to build an integrated beverage manufacturing facility at Orvakal in Kurnool district.
It is anticipated that the new factory, which would produce packaged drinking water, fruit juices, and carbonated soft beverages, will directly employ around 1,200 people. One of the biggest new investments in Andhra Pradesh’s food and beverage manufacturing industry in recent years is this project.
On November 28, 2025, the State Investment Promotion Committee (SIPC) reviewed the investment proposal. It was then presented to the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), which convened on December 4. The SIPB suggested that the initiative be supported by the granting of tailored incentives.
In accordance with the Andhra Pradesh Food Processing Policy (4.0) 2024–29, the state government has now officially approved the request and approved the incentive package as a special instance.
Over the course of five years, the incentives—which total 37.10 percent of the project’s fixed capital investment—will be distributed, with some of the policy’s eligibility requirements being loosened to make room for the project.
A capital subsidy of 15% of qualified fixed capital investments, up to a maximum of Rs 25 crore, is one of the authorized incentives. Additionally, for a five-year term, RCPL would get 100% reimbursement of net state goods and services tax (SGST) on commodities produced and sold in Andhra Pradesh, subject to a cap of Rs 493.95 crore.
The project is also eligible for a five-year matching energy duty exemption and a Rs 1 per unit power cost reimbursement, with a total ceiling of Rs 81.72 crore. Up to Rs 1.20 crore has also been approved for the reimbursement of stamp duty, transfer duty, and land conversion fees.
According to officials, the initiative is in line with the State’s larger plan to draw in significant investments in the production of consumer products and food processing by using Andhra Pradesh’s agricultural base and logistical network.
