RR IPL Auction 2026: Prior to the IPL 2026 auction, the Rajasthan Royals took the unexpected decision to let go of their captain, Sanju Samson. The senior wicketkeeper-batter was traded to the Chennai Super Kings. Following the mini-auction, RR will reveal their new skipper for the next campaign.

An intriguing development is that renowned Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who left the CSK after 13 years, has returned to RR. Despite his enormous success, the IPL great has returned to his starting point. Notably, Jadeja began his IPL career with RR and helped them win their first championship back in 2008. With Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, and Yashasvi Jaiswal as the other contenders, Jadeja is a strong candidate to replace him as captain of Rajasthan.

The Rajasthan Royals took a bold move in the trade market by adding Sam Curran and Donovan Ferreira, and they released seven players ahead of the mini auction, which is set to take place in Abu Dhabi on December 16. The amount that RR will bring to the auction is Rs 16.05. Only one player may be Indian, and the team may purchase up to nine players.
