Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar is roaring at the box office but amid its record-breaking run an unexpected name in the end credits has grabbed just as much attention online. Is Rahul Gandhi the politician behind Dhurandhar?
X (formerly Twitter) users wasted no time reacting. “Which RAHUL GANDHI is this? I guess the REAL one” wrote one user while another quipped “Career switch after losing elections executive producer now?” Others jokingly asked if the Leader of Opposition had quietly entered Bollywood.

The confusion grew louder as the film continued its strong theatrical run with many demanding clarification on whether the credit was political symbolic or simply a coincidence.
The truth behind the viral credit
A quick fact check clears the air. The Rahul Gandhi credited in Dhurandhar is not the Congress MP. He is a well-known industry professional who happens to share the same name. This Rahul Gandhi has been associated with several successful films and shows over the years quietly backing projects without courting the spotlight.
His previous credits include Akshay Kumar’s Rustom popular web series The Family Man and Rocket Boys and films like Blur and Lucky Bhaskar. The coincidence of names however proved irresistible fodder for the internet.
Why did the confusion snowball so fast?
The timing played a big role. Dhurandhar has been at the centre of intense online chatter including debates around its political undertones and “propaganda” allegations. Against this backdrop the appearance of a politically charged name in the credits was bound to ignite speculation regardless of context.

Box office storm continues
Released on December 5 Dhurandhar has already crossed ₹300 crore in India cementing its place as one of the year’s biggest hits. While the film’s action and performances are winning audiences a simple name in the credits has proved how quickly curiosity can spiral in the age of viral screenshots.
In the end the buzz says more about internet culture than politics — sometimes a name is just a name
