Tyson Fury could earn £20million more than Anthony Joshua with clever move

Tyson Fury looks set to avoid a huge tax bill when he returns to the ring after changing his residency status.

Fury, who retired earlier this year but is planning a comeback in the spring, is reported to have splashed out £6million on a mansion on the Isle of Man. It is unclear whether he and his family will move there permanently, but he has been spotted on the island several times this year.

And as a result, Fury will likely pay only 21 per cent tax on his earnings, unlike the 45 per cent he would have to pay in the UK. And that will come in handy if Fury agrees a deal to fight Anthony Joshua next September, a fight which could earn him £100million, meaning he would take home around £79m, minus expenses, compared to Joshua's £55m if he remains registered in the UK.

“Tyson has been telling pals that he has moved to the island," a source told The Sun “He is very fond of the Isle of Man and has been telling residents that he is looking forward to making it his home. The couple have also been checking out schools in the area for their youngest kids.”

Joshua and Fury will have warm-up bouts before they meet next year, but Joshua called out his rival following his win over Jake Paul last Friday. “It wasn’t the best performance,” Joshua said. “We have to give Jake his respect for trying and trying and trying, but he came up against a real fighter tonight that’s had a 15-month layoff, who shook off the cobwebs.

“I can’t wait to roll into 2026. If Tyson Fury is as serious as he thinks he is, and he wants to put down his Twitter fingers and put on some gloves and come and fight one of the realest fighters out there, that will take on any challenge, step in the ring with me next if you’re a real bad boy.
