New Delhi, 27 December. After being embroiled in controversy regarding one of his posts on social media, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh had to give clarification. He said that he has been and will always be a staunch opponent of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Narendra Modi.
In fact, this time former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijay Singh publicly praised BJP and RSS, which sparked a political turmoil. He posted an old picture of Narendra Modi and LK Advani in an X post ahead of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Saturday, writing about the strength of the party’s organisation. This praise of Digvijay Singh is being considered as an indirect target on the organization in Congress. At present, after the controversy escalated, a clarification has also come from Diggi Raja’s side.
While sharing the old photo of former Deputy Prime Minister Advani and PM Modi, Congress leader Digvijay Singh in his tweet said, “I support the organization. I am against RSS and Modi ji. You people have misunderstood my point… I have praised the ‘organization’. I was, am and will remain a staunch opponent of RSS and Modi… Is it a bad thing to strengthen the organization and praise it?”
There was an uproar over this post of Digvijay,
Digvijay had written in the post, ‘I found this picture on Quora site. It is very effective. It shows how an RSS grassroots volunteer and Jan Sangh/BJP worker, who once used to sit on the ground near the feet of leaders, later became the Chief Minister of a state and the Prime Minister of the country. This is the strength of the organization.
The undated photo shows PM Modi, former BJP chief LK Advani and several others attending a public rally. The Congress leader also tagged Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, Priyanka Gandhi and others in the social media post. This post of Digvijay is being considered as an indirect taunt on his own party. The post on social media came a week after the senior Congress leader openly demanded reforms and decentralized functioning within the party.
BJP sidelined,
At present, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi has clearly distanced himself from this post of Digvijay Singh. He said that this is an internal matter of the Congress party. There is nothing very important in this. Digvijay Singh has not questioned Rahul Gandhi’s understanding.
At the same time, another BJP leader, CR Kesavan said that Digvijay’s post has revealed that Congress runs the party in a dictatorial manner. He asked whether Rahul Gandhi would show courage and react to the Congress leader’s social media post.
