While talking about his film 'Section 375' in a podcast in September 2025, director and writer Manish Gupta said, "It took me 3 years to write this film. With great hard work I wrote the entire film and did the entire pre-production. I also cast Akshay Khanna, Richa Chadha and Rahul Bhatt in the film. I am the director of the film. But the producer and the lead actor played the game of dirty politics with me. I just had to write. Got credit for. This is Bollywood.”
The director further said, "Akshay Khanna's ego is very high... What about the actors, we have made them gods. The audience does not care about the film, but about the actor. Manish Gupta says, "According to all the people with whom I have worked, Akshay Khanna is very difficult to handle. He is eccentric and lazy. He did this to me too. He has done very bad things to me. Akshay and the producer together did wrong to me. There was pressure from Akshay on the producer. The actors want to control the film.
