Byndoor: Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed KSRTC bus stand in Byndoor taluk headquarters and assured that a modern bus depot would be built soon in response to public demand.

Speaking after inaugurating the new KSRTC bus stand, the minister said the facility was developed with a long-term vision for the overall development of Byndoor. He added that efforts would be made to name the new bus stand as the “Kolluru Mookambika Bus Stand”.

The minister also announced that the tender process for the purchase of 900 new government buses across the state has been completed. Special priority will be given to the Udupi–Mangaluru division, and steps will be taken to introduce 100 new electric buses in the Mangaluru division, he said.

Byndoor MLA Gururaj Gantihole presided over the programme. Legislative Council member Manjunath Bhandari, along with Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Mohan Poojary, Babu Shetty, Girish Byndoor, Raju Poojary and others were present on the occasion.
