The recent suicide case of newly married woman Ganavi has taken a fresh turn, with a complaint now being filed against her family members following the death of her husband Suraj.

Suraj reportedly died by suicide in Nagpur a few days after Ganavi’s death. Subsequently, Suraj’s brother lodged a complaint against Ganavi’s family at a police station in Nagpur. Based on the complaint, an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) has been registered at the Sonegaon police station.

Vidyaranapura police have gathered preliminary information related to the case and stated that the matter is likely to be transferred to the Vidyaranyapura police station, though the transfer is yet to be completed.

Police officials said that if Suraj’s relatives file a formal complaint, a case of abetment to suicide may be registered and investigated.

According to the complaint, Ganavi had allegedly informed her husband Suraj that she was in love with another man prior to their marriage. It is further alleged that Suraj returned from Sri Lanka within five days after learning this. The complaint claims that Ganavi’s family concealed certain facts about her past and went ahead with the marriage by arranging it through her brother.

Further investigation is awaited.
