A 25-year-old mother of three was allegedly gang-raped for over two hours in a moving Maruti Eeco van in Faridabad late on Monday night (December 29-30, 2025), after which she was dumped on a deserted road. The incident, which is being compared to the 2012 Nirbhaya case, happened amid dense fog on the Gurgaon-Faridabad road.
The victim, who is a resident of Kalyanpuri and is separated from her husband due to domestic issues, had left home around 8:30 pm after having a fight with her mother. She went to a friend’s house and while returning near Metro Chowk around midnight, she took a lift from two men in a van due to lack of public transport.
Instead of going home, the accused took her to isolated places and allegedly took turns to rape her, and also threatened to kill her if she screamed. At around 3 am on Tuesday morning, they threw her from a speeding vehicle (over 90 km/hr) near Raja Chowk in SGM Nagar, causing serious injuries on her head and face, including fractures and deep wounds that required 10-12 stitches.
The victim somehow managed to call her sister repeatedly. His sister said: The last normal call came at around 8:30 pm; The next call came at 3:30 in the morning, there was silence, and when called again there were sounds of crying. She remained on the line for about half an hour and then reached the spot.
The family took him to the hospital; He was referred to Delhi but admitted to a private hospital in Faridabad. She is in stable but serious condition, and is unable to give a statement due to shock.
Faridabad Police on Tuesday arrested two suspects (one from Uttar Pradesh, one from Madhya Pradesh, both local residents), seized the van, and obtained CCTV footage of their movements. Based on the sister’s complaint, an FIR has been registered under relevant BNS sections.
The heartbreaking case highlights the persistent dangers to women traveling alone at night, leading to calls for stronger safety measures amid the ongoing investigation.
