A woman has revealed her "life changing" method for preparing a brilliant steak using just three simple steps. The lady featured on the podcast The Iced Coffee Hour, presented by Graham Stephan and Jack Selby.

The duo host casual chats with an eclectic mix of guests discussing their experiences, achievements and even culinary advice. Celebrity guests throughout the years have included Jennette McCurdy, Bobby Lee and Ben Shapiro.

During one episode of the show, broadcast earlier this year, a woman was quizzed by Jack Selby about her technique for preparing steaks at home. Her response sparked debate amongst viewers in the comments as she revealed she would prepare her meat straight from frozen using an air fryer.

When questioned, she explained: "I use an air fryer and cook it from frozen, covered in salt in an air fryer." The host then double-checked what he'd heard, asking: "You cook it from frozen?" to which she confirmed: "It'll change your life."

She went on: "You just take it out of the freezer, put it in frozen. You get a better crust because it doesn't cook all the way through."

She mentioned that for a steak roughly an inch thick, she would prepare it for nine minutes each side.

A food influencer, Saucceats, who examines recipes and culinary techniques through viral reels and TikTok clips to determine their effectiveness, chose to test the air fryer steak method. He opted for a sirloin from Costco, which he praises as "low-key affordable and delicious", before applying oil to the meat to ensure the salt adheres.

He declared: "It feels like a sin, but let's cook this frozen steak. I'm cooking this at 400F (around 200C) for eight minutes on each side."

Upon flipping the steak midway through the cooking process, the man observed: "It's actually got some decent browning and the fat cap is rendered."

Before slicing into the steak, he teased: "Here's the moment you've all been waiting for."

He went on to say: "It's got a nice pink centre, but it does have some grey banding on the side. But how does it taste? Wow, that was actually good!".

The method sparked mixed reactions in the comments section. One individual confessed: "I'm torn. I hate and love this."

Another endorsed: "I swear by steak in the air fryer - perfect every time."

A third chimed in: "showed this to my guy who immediately went and cooked steaks in the air fryer. it worked. Recommend adding extra seasonings other than salt, but still."
