Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 32 years for Assistant Professor Grade I and 35 years for Grade II.
The IIT has released vacancies for Assistant Professors in its various departments/schools. This includes Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Astronomy/Astrophysics, and Space Engineering. The Associate Professor vacancies are only for the School of Innovation.
What are the eligibility criteria?
Assistant Professor: For Grade II, a first-class PhD or equivalent degree in the relevant subject with a good academic record is required. This position will be on a contract basis. For the Assistant Professor Grade I post, a PhD with three years of industrial/research/teaching experience is required.
Associate Professor: A PhD degree in the relevant branch or subject is mandatory. The degree before the PhD, such as M.Tech/M.Des/M.Arch, etc., should have first-class or equivalent marks. The candidate should have a good academic record throughout their academic career. In addition, the candidate must have at least 6 years of teaching/industry/research experience. Of this, 3 years of experience should be at the Assistant Professor level.
