Odisha’s Pankaj Lochan Mohanty Unanimously Elected Amateur Baseball Federation Of India President

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Pankaj Lochan Mohanty has been unanimously elected president of the Amateur Baseball Federation of India (ABFI).

This is the second term for Pankaj Mohanty, who was earlier president of the baseball federation from 2016-19. Baseball Association of Odisha secretary Sibananda Pradhan and president Prabodh Mohanty congratulated Pankaj, who is also president of Odisha Cricket Association.

Arvind Kumar of Haryana was elected general secretary after rival candidate Dilip from Goa withdrew his nomination for the post.

In the election for office-bearers of ABFI, held on December 30 at Bhubaneswar’s Hotel Rosewood, S Venkatesh of Tamil Nadu became treasurer by defeating Telangana’s Sweta by 33 votes to 13. Four vice-presidents, four joint secretaries and four executive body members were also elected, all for a period of four years.

Forty-six members from 23 states participated in the election, in which Justice Debabrata Dash (Retd) was the returning officer who conducted all the procedures.
