New Delhi: In recent months, the perception regarding Artificial Intelligence has strengthened that jobs in many sectors may be lost in the future. But meanwhile, a news has come out from the AI industry, which changes the picture of this fear. ChatGPT maker OpenAI is offering record-breaking salaries for AI talent and in this matter it has left behind even big companies like Google.
Amidst the rapidly increasing demand in the AI sector, OpenAI has offered an average package of 1.5 million dollars, i.e. about Rs 13.5 crore, to its employees. This indicates that not only the vacancies in AI jobs will increase in the coming times, but the salaries will also touch new heights.
According to the report, OpenAI is giving an average package of $1.5 million to its employees. This package is many times more than that of big tech companies. At present, OpenAI has a workforce of about 4,000 employees and hence this amount becomes very huge.
The report states that when Google launched its IPO in 2003, its stock-based package was about seven times less than OpenAI’s current package.
According to the report, the package of OpenAI is 34 times more than the package given before the IPO of 18 big tech companies of the world. This makes it clear how rapidly the demand for AI skills is going to increase in the market by 2026. The company has also made preparations to increase equity payment for top researchers and engineers to maintain its lead in the AI sector.
Because of this high-pay package of OpenAI, some of the company’s employees have become among the richest people in America. However, there is another aspect to this also. Due to the heavy salary package, the operational loss of the company is increasing and the shares of the existing shareholders are continuously getting diluted.
Other tech companies are also spending lavishly on AI talent. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has offered packages worth crores of rupees to hire AI researchers. The salary of some AI research positions in Meta has reached $1 billion. For this reason, many OpenAI employees have also switched to Meta.
