Pakistani YouTube sensation Rajab Butt, who boasts 8.34 million YouTube subscribers and 2.7 million Instagram followers, has opened up about the violent attack he faced at the Karachi City Court. The incident, which involved lawyers and a mob attacking him and his associate Nadeem Nani Wala, went viral on social media, sparking outrage.
In a detailed vlog, Rajab Butt explained how the attack unfolded. He said he and Nadeem were held and beaten for about 1.5 hours, during which the assailants recorded the assault and falsely claimed they were “updating” Rajab’s software. Despite the brutality, he described the attack as backfiring on the lawyers, saying that public criticism and social media backlash turned the tables against them.
“Nadeem and I were terrified and embarrassed,” Rajab Butt said. “We thought people would mock us, but Allah protects those who are meant to be respected. Their plan backfired—they were humiliated. The law is a respected profession, but their actions betrayed it.” He emphasized that not all lawyers behave this way and reaffirmed the importance of law as a noble profession.
Rajab Butt also highlighted the support he received from government officials and public figures. Minister of Auqaf Riaz Shirazi, Governor Kamran Tessori, Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, senior lawyer Jibran Nasir, and others publicly backed him, while fellow content creators and fans rallied behind him online.
The vlog also revealed Rajab Butt’s physical injuries from the attack. Showing bruises and cuts to his mother, father, and sister at home, he described being held forcefully, sustaining scratches from nails and even knife wounds. His mother was visibly emotional and expressed anger toward the attackers, saying, “A mother’s cries will be heard by Allah; I will curse them for beating you mercilessly.”
Fans have flooded social media with messages of support, prayers, and calls for justice. Comments included, “The pain in your mother’s eyes can be felt,” “Those lawyers should be punished,” and advice urging Rajab Butt to think carefully before speaking publicly.
