Half-cooked rice and sambar without proper spices are being served to students at a government school in Kadur town, raising serious concerns about the quality of the mid-day meal scheme.

The issue has been reported at the PM Shri Government School in Kadur. Students studying at the school have complained that the food is not cooked properly and that worms are found in the rice. Despite repeated complaints by children, no action has been taken by teachers or the school management, sources said.

Due to the poor quality of food, many small children have stopped eating the government-provided mid-day meal. After worms were found in the rice, some students have started bringing food from home.

Even after serving substandard food to children, the school administration has remained silent. In some instances, children were unable to eat and threw away the food after finding worms in the cooked meal.

Videos showing children discarding the food due to worms have been recorded on local residents’ mobile phones, highlighting the seriousness of the issue.
