Located just 4 hours from the UK, there's a pretty village that's home to stunning coasts. Known as the Maldives of Europe, visitors can't get enough of the beautiful landscapes this country has to offer.

Ksamil, in Albania, is a small coastal village in the south of the country. It is located along the Ionian Sea, around 15 kilometres south of Saranda and near the Greek island of Corfu. The village sits in Butrint National Park, a UNESCO-protected area, with the ocean on the west side and a lake to the east. On a TikTok account under the name of @saranda_events, one person posted a video of the crystal clear beaches with a caption which says: "Discover Ksamil, Albania: The Maldives of Europe! Explore the breathtaking beauty of Ksamil, Albania, a true gem in Europe. Dive into stunning beaches and vibrant culture."

In the comments, one person wrote: "The most beautiful country in the world."

Another penned: "Stop saying Maldives it's Ksamil even better!"

To get there, you can fly to Corfu, which takes around three hours from London, and then you will need to take a 30-minute ferry over to Ksamil.

One must-visit spot in the area is Lori Beach. A visitor on Tripadvisor said: "Wonderful beach with soft sand, really enjoyable if you want to relax or have fun, I really recommend it. It also has a bar and with really great drinks."

Another person penned: "Lido a little further than the others but worth it. Beautiful beach, friendly staff and helpful reasonable prices, you can order food directly at the beach with service included. We had a great time."

Sunshine Seeker says the best time to visit Ksamil is during the shoulder seasons, from May to June, and in late September or early October.

It says that in these periods, the weather is still warm and the sea is perfect for swimming.

You're also much more likely to miss out on the crowds of peak seasons.

If you're looking for a holiday destination for 2026, you should consider this beautiful part of Europe.
